Abanasinian Locations
Located in the western part of Ansalon, it is bordered by the New Sea to the west and the Plains of Dust to the east. The landscape is diverse, consisting of vast plains, dense forests, and rugged mountains. The Plains of Abanasinia, which stretch across much of the region, are home to nomadic tribes and farming communities. Among its more mysterious places is Darken Wood, a magical forest feared by many due to the dangerous spirits and ancient beings said to dwell within. To the south, the Kharolis Mountains create a natural boundary with the Plains of Dust, while the New Sea, formed after the Cataclysm, lies to the west.
The people of Abanasinia are just as varied as its geography. The nomadic tribes of the plains, such as the Qué-Shu, Qué-Kiri, and Qué-Teh, are deeply connected to nature, living off the land in harmony with their surroundings. One of the most iconic towns in the region is Solace, a peaceful settlement known for its homes and businesses built in the branches of towering vallenwood trees. The town's Inn of the Last Home is a place where many adventurers from far and wide gather as a pseudo tourist attraction. Further south lies Haven, a larger and more bustling town, serving as a hub of commerce and a center of political intrigue, also the capital of the nation. Nearby, though not technically part of Abanasinia, lies the elven country, the Qualinesti Alliance, whose presence influences the broader political landscape of the region.
Historically, Abanasinia has seen its share of upheaval. The Cataclysm reshaped much of Ansalon, and Abanasinia was not spared from these changes. The creation of the New Sea and shifts in geography left a lasting impact, though the people of the region adapted over time. Despite the turmoil of the war, Abanasinia remains a land of quiet beauty and deep history, standing as a vital part of Krynn.
