Lancton

This fortified town lies n site of Castle Crimson, and was founded in 1940PC to act as a toll station, guard post and caravan stop. It once stood at the only section of the Dermount River that is fordable, and remained a trade hub even after other bridges were built – though it was no longer needed as a garrison at that point.

Traders commonly pass through Lancton, carrying ore from the mines of Werim to Gulfport and Gwynned. Oxen pull wagons through Lancton almost constantly.

As a popular trade route with heavy traffic, Lancton has also become home to the Empire’s finest and largest Bardic College, renowned across Ergoth for famous works of art and spectacular performances. The inns of Lancton are almost constantly filled with both students and masters of all the performing arts.

Lancton is also the acknowledged home of the headquarters of the Ergothian Thieves' Guild, though most doubt the truth of this despite it being widely publicized across the Empire, as no-one really thinks the guild would let the location of it’s headquarters be known. None-the-less, contact can be made with the guild here, specifically in a tavern called The Emperor’s Clothier.
