Tantyvil

This hamlet exists because of a battle of wills between a former lord of Gulfport and his son (around 300AC). As the lords grew older he refused to step down and allow his son to take over, and the son – already wealthy from trading in the New Sea – decided to show his superiority over his father by establishing a city of his own to the south.

This new settlement was named Tantyvil after it’s founder’s wife who spent his entire fortune on new homes, stores, docks, stables, smithies and inns. When he was done Tantyvil stood as one of the most cohesive and aesthetically pleasing settlements in all of Ergoth, every structure perfectly planned and aligned.

Unfortunately Tantyvil never attracted a great many people to make it their home, those who did come being mostly sea barbarians and a few fishermen. Now, most of Tantyvil lies in disrepair and barely supports a population of about three hundred.

Though rumour claims that it is in Lancton, Tantyvil is also the true home of the Ergothian Thieves Guild.
