Missing City

The small settlement known as the Missing City actually sits in the shadow of the mostly buried ruins of Gal Tra’kalas, and comprises four districts housing several hundred who have chosen to settle in a place where nobody would think to look for them.

Gal Tra’kalas was an elven city once, but when the Cataclysm struck it was completely destroyed and reduced to bare ruins, and rumour started to circulate of spirits walking the ground where it once stood. To the elves Gal Tra’kalas became a shunned place, called the “home of the dead” because the spirits of the ancient dead still to this day rise and walk it’s streets. Such figures walk through a wider area even than the ruins, including the settlement, but off no great hazard or threat to those who choose to live there. In fact scholars often come merely to study these spectral figures, as they seem not only not to notice the people they walk through, but also seem to get on with quite regular looking lives. The spirits of Gal Tra’kalas in fact seem to grow old and die as though living completely regular mortal lives, leading some scholars to believe that they are not spirits at all, but a vision into an alternate reality in which the Cataclysm never happened at all.

It is also believed by some that this is merely a trick, likely caused by Hiddukel the trickster, and that there is some evil purpose behind it.
