Tower of Tears

Just north-east of Tarsis, this great tower of dwarven craftsmanship was designed to resemble the artistic aesthetics of Qualinesti, and stands at the centre of a lush and vibrant garden protected by fortified stone walls. Channels that ran through the tower bring water from hot springs beneath up the height of the tower. This water would then pour down the sides, making it’s walls glisten throughout the day in both sun and moonlight and leaving it partially coated in ice during the winter. Called the Tower of Torath, the tower was considered a place of great beauty and supposedly inspired a great many betrothals.

Just prior to the Cataclysm however, the flowing waters turned poisonous. All visitors fell gravely ill within days, so that when the Cataclysm did strike the inhabitants of the tower were already dead. Following the Cataclysm, the plainsmen of the region renamed the keep the Tower of Tears, and spread the word amongst their own peoples that it was a cursed place, and forbidden to enter. Those who have come close claim to have heard crying and moans of anguish from within, and witnesses say that the poisonous waters still flow down the tower’s sides.
