Purstal
Legends amongst the peoples of the plains and those who live near it’s borders claim Purstal to be a cursed and haunted place, more so than anywhere else in the Plains of Dust.
Once a thriving city on the border of Kharolis and place along the elevated King's Road highway. Seeking to gain a foothold in the region, the empire of Istar attacked Purstal in force, and with few options to save themselves the mayor of the town made an offering to Chemosh, the god of undeath, and asked for his help in resisting the invasion. Chemosh heard the prayer and granted the mayor’s request - to raise Purstal’s fallen warriors so that they could do battle with Istar. Chemosh agreed to the deal, but not until Istar had already sacked the city. As the warriors of the Kingpriest looted Purstal however, the dead rose together and repelled the invaders, taking the city as their own.
Following the Cataclysm, much of Purstal fell as many other towns and cities did, but the undead remained. Anyone with any knowledge of the plains also knows the bitter story of Purstal, and has heard tales of ghostly lights moving about the ruins at night - the undead continuing to search every street and building for any sign of intruders or invaders. They will also know the rumours that Chemosh granted the mayor an artifact that would enable him to control the undead, but only after the mayor was slain. This relic is supposedly still there somewhere in the ruins of the city, but no-one has been foolish enough to go looking for it
