Pathwarden Estate

This estate has long been home to the Pathwarden family, a noble Solamnic dynasty who family have long sent their sons to become Knights of Solamnia. It’s multi-room house is often referred to as “The Moat-House”, for the wall and moat that ran around it’s outside, and it can easily accommodate both a large family and plenty of guests.

In the centuries after the Cataclysm when hostility towards the knighthood began to strengthen, the Pathwarden family retreated from Palanthas to this home, and found themselves well defended as a marsh called the Warden Swamp grew around them. They soon discovered however that this was the work of a man named The Scorpion – a black-robed mage causing much trouble around northern Goodlund. The Scorpion was eventually defeated by Sir Bayard Brightblade and Galen Pathwarden, a squire sometimes called Weasel due to how reluctantly he does his duty as a squire. Peace in the region lasted only a few years though, as not long after the Lemish Rebellion – also known as The Outcrying – spread across south-eastern Solamnia. The Pathwardens were called on for help, but their home was found abandoned and the family gone. Where they have gone, nobody knows. This was only a few years ago, and the estate has lain empty
since.
