newly established Abanasinia Empire. The empire was forged in the aftermath of the Cataclysm, seeking to unite the fractured lands of Abanasinia, a region known for its diversity of peoples, including humans,
elves, and dwarves, under a single banner to prevent further chaos and suffering.
From a young age, Edelgard was marked by destiny. The mysterious and ancient power of dragon blood ran through her veins, a legacy from an ancestor who had been blessed by a silver dragon. This lineage granted her unparalleled strength and a deep connection to the arcane, manifesting in both her martial prowess and her ability to wield magic—a rarity in the martially inclined von Hresvelg family.
Her early years were fraught with hardship. Her family was embroiled in a silent war against the dark sorcery of the Black Robes, practitioners of evil magic who sought to manipulate the empire's destiny. Edelgard's siblings were casualties of this shadow war, leaving her the sole heir to the throne. Her heart grew hardened by these trials, forging a will of iron and a determination to eradicate the influence of dark magic within her lands and beyond.
Edelgard's rule began in the aftermath of the War of the Lance, a time when the world was still healing from the wounds of conflict and the shadow of Takhisis, the Queen of Darkness, loomed large. Backstory: Edelgard is the newly crowned Emperor of the Abanasiniann Empire and the heir to the imperial throne. As a child, she was subjected to cruel experiments by Those Who Slither in the Dark, resulting in her possessing two Marks. These experiences shaped her resolve to reform Ansalon and eliminate the Mark system. With her father, Emperor Ionius IX, weakened, Edelgard took on the mantle of leadership and enrolled at Garreg Mach Monastery, where she leads the Black Eagles house.
