1. June 8th, 2024 Assault on the Holy Mausoleum

Gildember 31, 354 A.C.

Krynn's Vanguard investigated the Holy Mausoleum looking for how to defend it from attackers and intruders based off the knowledge they gained from the uncovered assassination plan and also the advice from the church. They conferred with Seteth about adding some defenses to the Mausoleum which he shut down as the Mausoleum is a sacred site which should be left as is without alterations.

Upon going down to enter the Holy Mausoleum the next morning before the Rite of Rising took place, they were met with some unexpected company. They were met with a cohort of Western Church members along with the imposing figure Orion had seen the other night while they camped, The Death Knight.

It was a hard fought battle where The Death Knight stood still but did a great deal of damage with each strike, nearly killing a few party members. One of the spellcasters took down Tehv'in with a Power Word Kill, and Tehv'in was shortly revived by Bob. Kyan saw one of the enemies grab something from a chest and he and Edelgard were able to get it back from him.

After half the invaders had been defeated, they retreated though a hidden entrance by the stairs up to the alter at the end of the room. The Flame Emperor appeared and spoke to only The Death Knight "Halt. You're having a bit too much fun." and teleported the both of them away without any other interaction.

Krynn's Vanguard noticed a detail of people coming down the stairs and met a new Knight of Seiros with a very interesting sword. She came to help but got there and everything was fine. She informed them that Lady Rhea was safe and there was nothing to worry about and quickly left to return to her duties. She also informed Kyan that what he had found is some sort of sand-like substance called Spirit Dust.

Upon ingesting parts of the Spirit Dust, each member of Krynn's Vanguard felt a sort of change inside them and were drawn to one of the sarcophagus-like chambers that were on the many alters around the room.

On each sarcophagus was an inscription that read a certain name they'd heard before, the one's they had were Blaiddyd, Charon, Goneril, Lamine, Cethleann, and Maucil. Each one also depicted either a decorated warrior or a dragon. Inside, there were no bones or mummified corpses, but rather what seemed to be artifacts. A magical weapon or accessory that seemed to contain emmense power. The basis of these weapons or objects had a yellow-golden hue to it as well. Each item also had a round hole where it seems some sort of round tuit or ball-like object could fit.
