Krynn's Vanguard had a hard fought battle against the Death Knight and the Flame Emperor's Army. At the end of the battle, when the Death Knight called reinforcements to surround and kill Krynn's Vanguard, The Flame Emperor appeared ordering everyone to withdraw, with a bit of displeasure expressed by the Death Knight as he said "You are interrupting my game." However, The Death Knight retreated in the end.
The Flame Emperor properly introduced himself "I am the Flame Emperor. It is I who will reshape the world. We will meet again." With that he disappeared.
After rescuing Flayn and another unnamed student, Seteth expressed his gratitude while Rhea was nowhere to be found.
Edelgard approached Krynn's Vanguard the next day explaining that she would be leaving the Monastery for a while to take care of something in the Emperial capital of Enbarr before the ceremony in the Holy Tomb was to take place. She asked Krynn's Vanguard to accompany her. They took an airship with sigils of the empire to cross most of Northern Ergoth and land in the shipyard of the capital.
The thing Edelgard had to take care of was ascending to the throne as the Empress of the Abasinian Empire, taking the crown from her father, Emperor Ionius Von Hresvelg IX. After ascending to the throne without much pompus, Edelgard and Krynn's Vanguard headed back to the monastery with a large crew of elite soldiers of the Empire in tow, known as Black Eagles.
