With a long fought battle, Krynn's Vanguard defeated Gilbert, Seteth, and Flayn as Lady Rhea appeared from the Monastery along with Catherine and Cyril, two of her most devoted followers to help protect the monastery along with a few more knights. After more fighting, along with the assistance of the Death Knight, Kyrnn's Vanguard drove The Knights of Seiros to retreat. Rhea, as The Immaculate One, drove back the rest of the Imperial Army, but was stopped by a mysterious man with pale, almost paper white skin, white hair, and eyes that lacked any pupils or Iris, adorned in black clothing and accompanied by a number of other masked figures.
Apparently, Rhea knew this man as she asked him "Why are you here?". Whithout a word, he pulled together and unleashed a ball of dark magic that hit all of Krynn's Vanguard, who'd been scattered from their allies due to the chaos. Resisting the attack Krynn's Vanguard was pushed to a cliff created during Rhea's rampage, and the cliff broke, sending them down into the chasm.
At the end of the year 354 A.C., the new Abanasinian Emperor, Edelgard Von Hresvelg, led a strategic assault against the monastery at Garreg Mach. Though her own losses were great, her fores had no choice but to surrender. Archbishop Rhea commanded the Knights of Seiros, leading from the front lines against the Imperial Army. After a hard fought battle, she was forced to retreat to Palanthas, the captial of the Kingdom.
With this single attack, the Abanasinian Empire officially launched its offensive against the Holy Kingdom of Solamnia and the Qualinesti Alliance. The reunification of Western Ansalon has begun.
