Krynn's Vanguard helped repair the ship after fending off the giant octopi, Kraken, and Sea Dragon. During this time, Orla decided to explore the ship and discovered an box that was different from the others, being a more rectangular box than the other square crates on the ship. Investigating the box, Orla was able to open the two locks that kept it closed. Inside, Orla saw a sheet covering what appeared to be a humanoid woman. Whether they were alive or dead was unclear as the smell of decay was not present, however it was somewhat musty which indicated that it had been closed for some time.
Along the way to Manic, they encountered a small, growing whirlpool in the ocean that seemed to have some sort of spire underneath. It was undetermined if this is some structure under the water, or if it's just some ruin that fell into the ocean after the Cataclysm.
Arriving in Manic, Krynn's Vanguard searched for information in the taverns and library in Manic. Along the way to one of the more opulent taverns, Kyan, Orla, and Bob swaw something in the alley that scurried off before they could figure out what it was. Tehv'in and Valphire went to one of the less fancy taverns (unsupervised...bad decision). On their way there, they saw three of whatever it was that scurried off and after a closer look, Tehv'in determined that they were Intellect Devourers. This indicated to the party that an Illithid Colony is hiding somewhere in Northern Ergoth, potentially close to Manic itself.
The party tried to meet with the goblin lord of Manic but he declined to see them and their attempts to infiltrate the manor were foiled by some sort of magical defenses.
With that information, they reported what they found to the Knights of Seiros and plan to leave Manic towards Gwynned and Garreg Mach Monastery in the near future.
