With Korril and Salah-Khan defeated, Krynn's Vanguard returned to the surface to see what had transpired while they were underwater. When they arrived, it was obvious what had happened. While the Imperial Army was victorious in defeating the Green Dragon Army soldiers, they took some heavy losses themselves.
Krynn's Vanguard helped with some rebuilding efforts and tending to the wounded while planning their next move. There were a few options to take. The Blue, Red, and Black dragon armies were still at large and prepping for their final assault on Ansalon targeting Palanthas as the crowning Jewel of their conquest. Lastly, they were still missing the final piece of the Crest of the Daughters of Paladine which was housed in the Dragon Isles. A mysterious land that not much is known about other than it is home to elf-like beings who are protected by a guardian deity known as the Golden Whale.
With their immense amount of wealth, Krynn's Vanguard was able to purchase a ship and crew in Palanthas after making a pit stop at Palanthas University to talk to Professor Alexandra Nightvane and learn what she knows about the Dragon Isles...which is not a lot.
Making their way up the Bay of Branchalla, and through the Gates of Paladine, Krynn's Vanguard reached the open waters of the Turbidus Ocean. After a fairly unventful voyage, Krynn's Vanguard came across a thick fog, and unusually calm waters. The ship stopped and the Golden Whale appeared. Nothing was said, at least by the whale. The wail waited, and after the party stopped questioning and trying to progress forward, it tested their patience. The party passed. Secondly, the whale asked what they are willing to loose to change the world, Orla gave up her weapon Friekugel. This let the party pass. Lastly, spectal chromatic dragons appeared. They did not attack, they did not provoke, and the party held their ground showing both courage, and restraint. The last trial from the whale passed, and the fog in front of them split, allowing them passage to the Dragon Isles. Eight gleaming gems of land with crystal clear waters that were so clear you could see schools of fish and larger creatures swimming even hundreds of feet below the surface. As the ship approached. They anchored a short distance away, lowering rowboats that the party used to come ashore.
Once ashore, Orla found Friekugel which she had given up earlier, and three figures came down from a path to greet them. Who they were was yet to be determined.
