The Abyssal Concord of Utter Chaos

  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Purpose: To unleash the Abyss’s pure chaos upon Krynn, bend all mortal and immortal forces to their will, and subjugate reality under the ever-shifting, maddening dominion of the Abyss.

Overview

The Abyssal Concord of Utter Chaos (or simply "the Concord") is a fractured yet domineering organization formed from the innumerable layers of the Abyss. It is presided over by Demogorgon, the dual-headed Prince of Demons, whose goals intertwine madness, control, and destruction. The Concord’s ultimate aim is to weave Krynn into the fabric of the Abyss, creating an ever-shifting plane of torment and despair that mirrors Demogorgon’s fractured mind.

Those Who Slither in the Dark (TWSITD) serve as thralls of the Concord, bound to its will through dark pacts and Abyssal curses. Though the cabal believes it has retained some autonomy, they are merely pawns, their schemes manipulated to further the Concord's goals. TWSITD's pursuit of forbidden knowledge and pre-Cataclysmic artifacts feeds directly into the Abyssal agenda, granting the Concord access to Krynn's ancient secrets and strengthening their foothold on the Material Plane.

Hierarchy

  • Demogorgon – The Dual Sovereign
  • Titles: The Prince of Demons, The Sibilant Beast, Lord of Madness and Destruction
  • Role: Supreme leader of the Concord, Demogorgon embodies chaos and duality. His twin heads, Aameul and Hethradiah, vie for dominance, resulting in conflicting commands that fuel his followers’ madness.
  • Aameul (Left Head): The cunning manipulator who specializes in subtle corruption, deceit, and exploitation of mortal minds.
  • Hethradiah (Right Head): The raw, bestial enforcer of destruction, driven by primal rage and unrelenting carnage.
  • Goal: To turn Krynn into a mirror of his Abyssal lair, the Gaping Maw, where chaos and madness reign supreme.

The Abyssal Council of Thirteen

The Concord is governed by a council of Abyssal lieutenants and archdemons, each ruling one of Demogorgon’s delegated domains. These include:

  • Malgorzeth, Lord of Chains – Overseer of thralls and mortal cults, he ensures unwavering obedience through psychic domination.
  • Vexithra, Queen of Slime and Venom – Mistress of transformation and decay, she provides the Concord with horrifying biological monstrosities.
  • Drukhanor, The Rending Maw – General of the Concord’s Abyssal armies, focusing on brute force and planar incursions.
  • Irithzal, Weaver of Shadows – The spy master who directs espionage and infiltration into mortal organizations like TWSITD.
  • The Serpent, Fang of Abyss - Master of manipulation and esoteric magic. Its abilities focus on knowledge, deception, and corruption
  • These lords each wield considerable power, and though their infighting mirrors Demogorgon’s duality, they remain united in their devotion to their master.

Abyssal Thralls

At the bottom of the hierarchy are thralls, mortal or otherwise, who have sworn fealty to the Concord. Those Who Slither in the Dark fall into this category. They are granted boons of Abyssal power—ranging from enhanced spellcasting to monstrous transformations—but at the cost of their autonomy and sanity. They carry out the Concord’s will in the Material Plane, often unaware that their "masters" are mere pawns themselves.

Key Methods and Powers

  1. Corruption of Mortal Institutions
    1. The Concord manipulates mortal organizations by exploiting greed, fear, and ambition. They use Those Who Slither in the Dark as a vector for spreading Abyssal influence.

2.Chaos Rituals and Planar Breaches
Through dark rituals, the Concord breaches the planar veil, bringing Abyssal energies into Krynn. These rituals destabilize entire regions, plunging them into chaos and despair.

  1. Abyssal Augmentations

    1. Servants of the Concord, including members of TWSITD, receive horrifying "gifts," such as:
      1. Demonic Parasites: Symbiotic creatures that grant power but erode the host's will.
      2. Mutations: Abyssal enhancements, like additional limbs or infernal eyes, at the cost of their humanity.
      3. Dark Bargains: Powerful spells and artifacts with crippling curses.
  2. Monstrous Legions

    1. The Concord employs fiendish creatures from the Abyss, such as Abyssal Harbingers, Slime Crawlers, and Shadow Drakes. These are often summoned to enforce the Concord’s will on Krynn.

Allies and Rivals

Allies:

  • Lesser Abyssal entities such as dretch swarms and vrocks align with the Concord due to their shared chaotic nature.
  • Mortal cults and rogue wizards are drawn to the Concord’s promises of power and knowledge.

Rivals:

  • Takhisis and her Dragonarmies: The Concord views Takhisis as a competing force for domination over Krynn.
  • Knights of Solamnia: They represent law and order, a direct affront to the Concord’s chaos.
  • Towers of High Sorcery: Their focus on structured magic and the balance between good, neutral, and evil opposes the Concord’s creed of madness.

Current Agenda

  1. Destabilizing Krynn’s Factions

    1. Through TWSITD, the Concord orchestrates political assassinations, spreads disinformation, and foments rebellion to plunge Krynn into anarchy.
  2. Harvesting Ancient Magic

    1. Using TWSITD as proxies, the Concord seeks artifacts from the Age of Dreams and Istar, intending to channel these into Abyssal rituals.
  3. The Abyssal Convergence
The Concord is working towards a cataclysmic event that would permanently merge portions of the Abyss with Krynn, creating a domain of eternal chaos.
